Neoprene or EPDM?

Customers often ask us: "which is better Neoprene or EPDM?"

We always say that the answer to this question is totally dependent upon the use or application to which the material is applied in...

Applications

Neoprene has superior attributes in comparison to EPDM in applications requiring good resistance to Oils, Chemicals, Hydrocarbons and Solvents.

EPDM, on the other hand, has superior attributes in comparison to Neoprene in applications requiring good resistance to UV Light, Ozone and external weathering.

Properties

Neoprene and EPDM materials are visually identical and both products have good age resistance and provide sealing properties against ingress of water, moisture, air and dust. Both materials are also flame retardant to Industry standard FMVSS302 with superior flame retardant qualities being available from our product range.
