Neoprene / EPDM closed cell sponge – rolls, tapes gaskets etc.

A combination of polymers have been designed and formulated to provide combined properties of resistance in neoprene / EPDM closed cell sponge rubber. In addition, this versatile material can be manufactured to serve a broad range of applications such as EPDM neoprene rolls, sheets, tapes and seals.

The closed cell neoprene sponge rubber material has excellent longevity in applications where the material is subjected to:

  • UV light
  • Ozone
  • Other external weathering
  • Oil and chemicals (resistance may vary)

Neoprene EPDM Sponge specifications

Neoprene EPDM closed cell sponge rubber has high flame retardant specifications, conforming to classification UL94 HF1.

The rubber material is flexible, durable and has good recovery characteristics when released after compression and can be manufactured in a variety of forms.

Neoprene EPDM capabilities

Neoprene EPDM closed cell sponge assists in applications where the material is required to provide sealing properties to prevent the ingress of:

  • Air
  • Dust
  • Moisture
  • Water

As neoprene EPDM closed cell sponge is of a closed cell construction, it requires minimal compression to provide a seal. As a result, EPDM/neoprene is an appropriate choice for thermal control and has excellent ageing properties.

Neoprene EPDM sponge rubber applications

Due to the innate versatility of this popular material, neoprene EPDM closed cell sponge has many applications in day-to-day life. One of its primary uses is in thermal applications where hot or cold temperature resistance is required - making it an excellent insulating material.

Neoprene EPDM closed cell sponge is suitable for use in a wide range of applications in a variety of industries, some of which include:

  • Construction
  • Glass and Glazing
  • Shipbuilding
  • Railways
  • Aircraft and Aerospace
  • Electrical
  • Engineering and Automotive
