Neoprene Sponge UK

Since its conception in 1930, Neoprene has become an integral part of the modern life. Specially formulated to provide resistance against oils and chemicals, Neoprene is a robust material that can be used in a broad range of applications.

Alanto is proud to manufacture 6 different types of Neoprene in a range of colours, each with individual characteristics that allow it to perform differently under the pressure of many adverse environments. In addition to our pre-formulated Neoprene specifications, custom compounding is available for specific applications. Its thermal properties and tolerance to both hot and cold environments make it a particularly attractive material for outdoor use.

Its high tensile strength and low compression set make it a durable material that is appropriate for applications in the construction, packaging and logistics industries - to name a few. In addition, Neoprene has good recovery characteristics following compression, rendering it an excellent material for gaskets, tapes and rolls.

Neoprene Sponge Specifications

There is a range of closed cell Neoprene sponge materials available in the colour black, densities and hardness are as follows:

  • Ref DK1720 Density 140-190 kg/m3, 40-50 Shore Hardness
  • Ref DK1410 Density 115-155 kg/m3, 40-45 Shore Hardness
  • Ref DK1735 Density 150-200 kg/m3, 50-60 Shore Hardness

Differing densities and shore hardness assist in applications where closed cell Neoprene sponge is required to provide sealing properties to prevent the ingress of air, dust, moisture and water. We also have a range of Neoprene materials that are CFC and HCFC free.

Neoprene Sheeting UK Capabilities & Applications

Whilst Neoprene can be used in almost any consumer application, here at Alanto, we specialise in industrial Neoprene applications for a range of industries including:

  • The automotive industry

Our range of Neoprene closed cell sponge materials all have flame retardant specifications conforming to FMVSS302 classification.

We also have a closed cell neoprene sponge which has a higher flame retardant specification conforming to UL94 HF1 classification. This material is grey in colour and has the following attributes:

  • Ref DK1620FR, Density 130-170, 40-50 Shore Hardness, Flame Retardant to UL 94 HF1.
