PVC foam

PVC open cell foams provide softness, flexibility and conformability in areas requiring seals, noise-reduction and vibration dampening properties. Alanto’s cellular foam solutions are developed over time. The continuous testing of material compositions and designs ensure that we are able to provide best-in-class materials that perform under a broad range of environments.

Formerly known as polyvinyl chloride, PVC is excellent for both indoor and outdoor applications. A range of colours, including white PVC foam board, is lightweight with a smooth finish.

PVC foam properties

Open cell PVC foams are available in a range of densities and colours, including the following:

  • Ref AL810, average density 100 kg/m3
  • Ref AL815, average density 150 kg/m3
  • Ref AL820, average density 210 kg/m3

Available thickness commences from 2 mm and generally up to 12 mm.

PVC open cell materials are available in slow recovery, quick recovery and flame retardant grades. Our extensive range of PVC foams are available in:

  • Gaskets
  • Rolls
  • Tapes
  • Coils
  • Seals

In addition to pre-cut products, we also supply bespoke solutions to suit specific applications. Speak to one of our friendly team members today and we’ll see what we can do for you.
As the material is soft and flexible it is uniquely positioned to provide sealing properties in uneven/ non-conformable areas.

Under compression, the material becomes closed cell to provide sealing properties against air, dust and water. This means that Alanto’s PVC foam is perfect for a range of sealant applications and is often the first choice for a number of industries.

Material applications

Although this material is suitable for a range of applications, it is extensively used in the glass and glazing industry as protection pads for glass in transit and the sealing of units in windows.
